Fleur De Lis Earrings

(1 customer review)

Brass guitar picks custom etched & stamped, hand engraved with the Fleur de lis and stained for a one-of-a-kind look! It’s the cool factor of a guitar pick displaying the ancient symbol that has long been associated with French royalty, the coins of Louis VI and Louis VII are the earliest on which the fleur-de-lis appears. Long associated with Louisiana, it’s also found on the flag of St. Louis, a French settled river city.

The English translation of “fleur-de-lis” (sometimes spelled “fleur-de-lys”) is “flower of the lily.” This symbol, depicting a stylized lily or lotus flower, has many meanings. Traditionally, it has been used to represent French royalty, and in that sense it is said to signify perfection, light, and life. The oldest known examples of fleur-de-lis similar to those used in the Medieval Western world and in modern times can be found on assyrian bas-reliefs from the 3d millenium BC. It is found on tiaras, necklaces, scepters, and seems already to play the role of royal attribute.

I received my Fleur De Lis earrings yesterday, and they are even prettier in person. The workmanship is obvious and I will enjoy wearing them.
